Eco Village Project – First Phase
Project Description:
The Eco Village project is one of the most unique projects in the region in terms of the method used in construction which is not used in any other project. This project is one of the pilot projects in using the method of building by the rammed earth and in terms of used materials. The main goal is to reduce emissions from materials manufactured and used in conventional construction, which protect the climate, minimize pollution and introduce an environmentally friendly architectural model that can be emulated in neighboring projects in the region at cost lower than in other buildings.
The project is situated on a land of an area of approximately 35 Donums owned by PDTRA. The project is considered an environmentally friendly project where the buildings were adapted in the project using a natural physical system without the need to use traditional air conditioning systems that consume large amount of energy and money. This issue was taken under consideration and has been taken into account in the architectural and construction designs that will be implemented on the ground. There are many environmental standards that have been considered in this project in order to list the project on environment friendly green buildings list.
It was planned to benefit from water, exploit gray water, agriculture, utilize alternative energy sources (solar energy), and recycling of waste … etc.
Project goals:
Given the transformation of most of the global tourism activities and through the World Tourism Organization conferences, which adopted the publication of instructions to promote the principle of eco-tourism by tourism seekers around the world to get out of the global congestion sites and in a search for environmentally clean global tourist sites as well as strengthening the system of benefiting the local population in the global environmental sites who are described as the underdeveloped in the world's most ecologically-oriented tourist sites, PDTRA adopted the establishment of a tourism project and architectural model that is compatible with the surrounding environment by utilizing the existing materials and avoiding the use of conventional construction method by using the construction technique by the rammed earth where a number of the local community was trained on this technology in order to implement the remaining parts of the project and to provide job opportunities upon the complete implementation of all phases of the project (upon running).
