Tourism Promotion and Marketing
The Directorate of Tourism and Promotion, in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism, rated several tourist hotels in accordance with new international standards for five-star, four-star and part of three-star categories provided to compete the remaining hotels during 2014 based on their readiness.
Licensing all tourism activities in Petra in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities and Tourism Promotion Authority and related associations in the building of PDTRA for five days to ease the burden of transport and travel to Amman.
Hosting the 10th Arab Media Forum with the participation of at least 45 Arab media from all countries in addition to Arab media from Europe and America, and about 10 Jordanian journalists representing all media outlets in Jordan. All media published in their respective countries were monitored.
Printing promotional materials for PDTRA in general and the Directorate in particular (pens, bags, USB drives, CDs, posters, mouse pad, badge holders, and promotional book about Petra). These materials bear PDTRA name and logo for VIP visitors and will be used in the international exhibitions and by PDTRA guests.
Make (14) guide signs "you are here" distributed throughout the region including a guidance map on how to access the most important tourist centers and services in the region.
Updating the tourism website of Petra on the promotional website of the PDTRA http://visitpetra.jo and redrafting the Arabic and English version of the media material in cooperation with the second tourism project (USAID information and images).
