Achievements of the Archaeological Park
Since the PDTRA implementation of the Royal Directions and the application of the new law which mandates the PDTRA to take care of the heritage and archaeological resources, discover the Arab urban heritage located in the region and maximize its utilization at the national level, organize the tourism management and development in cooperation with relevant national institutions and bodies to protect archaeological sites, PDTRA launched many programs and projects that will provide services to the archaeological Park's visitors. The most prominent of which are the following:
Archaeological excavations in Petra and Al-Baidha
The Heritage Resources Management carried out (22) twenty-two archeological excavations by many missions in Petra and Al-Baidha areas. The missions which carried out excavations include:
- British mission Dr. Buiter Benikoski in the area of Umm al-Bayarah
- British Mission Dr. Robert Wenning to document the tombs of the Siq Gate
- The French Mission Dr. Lorent Tulbek, Nemira region
- US Mission Dr. David Johnson, Mutahah Valley area
- Danish Mission Dr. Engolph Tyson, Shakara Al-Masaeid area
- US Mission Dr. Susan Al-Cook for the Great Temple area
- Lisa Shekid and Stephen for the Cold Siq Area / Colored Cave
- Finnish Mission Dr. Jaco Frouzen, Mount Aaron Area
- British Mission Dr. Lucy and Edison, Mount Al-Khabtha area
- Swiss Mission Dr. Stefan Schmidt, Varsa Valley area
- Swiss Mission / Basel University, Al- Zantour area
- German Mission Dr. Daniel Sacha and Georgen Richard, Wadi Sabra area

The most important projects
- Fixing the cracked rock inside the Siq. The total value of the project is (72078) dinars
- Constructing of Petra Visitors Center units at a total value of (100201) dinars
- The back road tender for Petra Archeological Park (designs study) at a value of (59500) dinars
- Rehabilitation of the Petra Visitors Center - first phase at a total value of (1800000) dinars
- Routes within the heritage sources workshops (the route of the monastery's staircase, the route of Khabtha stairs, the route of the High Place of Sacrifice, Al-Beidha route, the main route)
- Supply wooden seats and containers at a total value of JD (27930).
